Success at the 2025 Dare to Devise Competition
At 5.00pm on Friday evening, the compulsory elements of 'weather' and 'a frame' were released. From there, teams had just 48 hours to create a fully realised six-minute piece of original theatre, which they performed on Sunday evening at Forum North for a public audience.
The process is an intense "pressure cooker" of creativity, testing resilience, teamwork, and the ability to see an idea through from start to finish. Our three groups (two Year 12 and one Year 13) rose to the challenge, devising bold and innovative works exploring themes as diverse as Murder Mystery, Reality TV and the Villain Edit, and Panic Attacks. Their use of staging, originality, and creative risk-taking made them standouts of the competition.
We are proud to share that our students came away with seven awards - including both the Supreme Award and the People's Choice Award.
