Sport Northland Volunteer Awards Far North 2025

For over 10 years, Bettina Simpson has been a dedicated Sport Coordinator at Kerikeri High School, managing a wide range of sporting opportunities for students. Among her many contributions, she has carved out a special place for volleyball, ensuring students have every chance to play, compete, and grow in the sport.

As noted by Dave Scott (BOIC): "Without her dedication, Kerikeri High School students would not have the opportunities they get".

Bettina ensures the School attends all volleyball events, actively attracts volleyball activity to the School, and even steps in as coach, manager, or bus driver when needed. Her commitment recently led to the installation of sand volleyball courts at the School - expanding opportunities into beach volleyball as well.

Her drive, passion, and initiative have made a lasting impact on Kerikeri High School's sporting culture, especially in volleyball, and she continues to go above and beyond for her students and community.
