MUNA
The Rotary Model United Nations event involved 300 Year 12 and 13 students from Northland and Auckland secondary schools, representing UN countries. Students embodied their nation's views and perspectives on current world issues. They took part in bloc meetings to discuss issues that were important to each of the regions, presenting speeches on different remits on current world issues, voted on whether remits were passed or not, and lobbied for support of remits.
The Kerikeri High School students were fantastic representatives of their given countries and did the school proud with their professionalism, manner and humour. The students representing Italy were Year 12 students Joe Jackson, Molly Para and Ben Andrews. Representing Myanmar were Year 13 students Jake Van Den Bemd, Millie Stovell and Hayley Bloch-Jorgensen. Representing Liberia were Sienna Molloy (Year 12), Nate Brewer (Year 13) and Isabelle Cannon (Year 13). Italy won best costume, and Myanmar received a special mention.
