Kerikeri High School Debating Success
Congratulations to all the Kerikeri High School students who competed in the recent 2026 Henderson Reeves Te Tai Tokerau Regional Championship.
The Kerikeri High School team of Year 13 students Nate Brewer, Isabelle Cannon and Joe Jackson won the event, ensuring that Kerikeri High School retained the trophy for another year. Isabelle Cannon was named Best Speaker of the tournament and also named as a member of the Te Tai Tokerau Regional Team which will compete in the National Secondary Schools' Debating Competition in May.
Year 12 student Maddi Weight was named Most Promising Speaker, and Year 11 students Isobel Gurau and Swara Kharche were named as Promising Speakers. Maddi Weight and Isobel Gurau were named as reserves for the Te Tai Tokerau Reginal Team. Year 13 students Pieter Du Plooy and Tyler Keehn were presented with Highly Commended Speaker awards.
