2025 Top Energy Far North Regional Science and Technology Fair
With over 180 projects from 12 Northland intermediate and secondary schools, this year's Top Energy Far North Regional Science and Technology Fair showcased many projects from Kerikeri High School.
Well done to all our students who were selected to represent us and congratulations to all our winners. Kerikeri High School projects were presented with over 50 awards.
Congratulations to Kerikeri High School Year 10 student Sophia Ibbotson who was the Overall Winner with her project Too Hot to Handle 2.0 - Cool Runnings: being awarded the major prize, sponsored by Top Energy. Sophia's project sought to improve solar technology. Her research developed a solar-panel cooling system that increased solar-panel power output in hot conditions and resulted in a net power increase. It is the first time the Overall Best Research prize has been awarded to a Year 10 student.
