Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Yesterday (Sunday) The PPTA (the union) has advised our board that its member teachers at our school will be taking strike action from 1:15pm-3:15pm, Wednesday 5 November.
The board has carefully considered the availability of non-union teaching staff and unfortunately decided that we can’t provide normal instruction during the strike action so the school will officially be closed for instruction from 1:15pm-3:15pm.
If making alternative arrangements for care is difficult, we can still supervise a small number of students if required. To assist us, if your student/students need supervision for that time period, please complete the brief survey link here so that we know who will be here and can plan accordingly.
KSTN school buses will run at their normal times, i.e. not earlier.
We know that this is inconvenient for parents and students alike. Please be assured that student safety is our main concern.
Thank you for your understanding. Please contact the Principal if you have any queries relating to the impact of the industrial actions noted above.
Yours sincerely
Co-Chairs,
Kerikeri High School Board
