Dear Parents and Whānau
Last week we shared advance notice with you of the PPTA’s intention to hold a nationwide strike on Wednesday 20 August. I can now confirm that official notification of this has been circulated to Secondary Schools and our School Board of Trustees.
As a result, we will not be able to provide normal lessons to students who attend school on Wednesday. Non PPTA teachers will supervise students throughout the school day.
The PPTA has also announced a schedule of partial strikes, meaning union members will not teach, supervise, or instruct students in certain year levels on designated days in the last week of term three. I suggest at this stage it is worth parents and whānau planning to have students rostered home on the following days in that last week of term. The timings of the year levels affected are:
15 September - Years 12 and 13
16 September - Year 11
17 September - Year 10
18 September - Year 9
Ngā mihi
