Connect BYOD Devices - Apple IPhone & IPad Certificate Install

On your Apple iPhone or iPad, you may get certificate error messages when going to secure websites, or the sites might not load at all. Secure websites have addresses that begin with "https" and they show a padlock icon in your web browser's address bar once they've loaded. To load these sites without the error messages you need to install a Kerikeri High School certificate onto your device.

1. Ensure you are connected to Kerikeri High School's KKHS_BYOD wifi, have logged in through the Fortinet firewall and have access to the school website at Instructions on how to do this are available here.

2. Open Safari and go to by typing it in to the address bar.

3. A message about downloading a configuration profile will appear. Select 'Allow'. A confirmation message will appear once the profile has downloaded.

4. Go into Settings, General, Profile. There will be a 'Fortigate CA' profile listed there.

5. Select 'Fortigate CA' then select 'Install' in the top-right. Enter your device's passcode when prompted.

6. Messages about the certificate will appear. Select 'Install' in the top-right again to complete the install.

7. Go into Settings, General, About, Certificate Trust Settings, and move the slider next to "Fortigate CA" to On.
Select 'Continue' on the warning message.

8. Re-open your web browser. Try going to a secure website, e.g.
You should no longer get certificate security warnings.
