Theatre Arts Academy - Course

Students may join the Theatre Arts Academy for a half or full year course.The four hours of classes per week are integrated into the school timetable.

Theatre Academy students can earn internationally recognised NCEA credits whilst studying:

  • Classic, modern and contemporary playwrights
  • Shakespeare and physical theatre
  • Dance
  • Theatre history (world and New Zealand)
  • Production roles including acting, lighting, costume and direction


Students will be involved in:

  • Class, studio and theatre performances
  • Devising and performing student-authored work
  • Regional and national competitions
  • Experiencing New Zealand theatre
